Chris Cook

Chris has volunteered and worked in a variety of voluntary and local authority youth clubs / uniformed youth organisations for over 35 years. With 22 years in IT developing financial software Chris turned to full-time youth work in 2002 for the Parish of Ifield. In 2007 he joined WSCC completing a degree as a youth and community youth worker in 2011 with Brighton University. In his work for WSCC Chris was a youth worker in charge at Ifield Youth Wing, then spent a period of time as Voice and Engagement Coordinator, finally for the last two years working with care leavers, young carers and a range of targeted youth services.

Chris worked with other community groups to establish Crawley Community Youth Service in 2011. He was also a founding Trustee for Street360 – a youth charity affiliated to Youth for Christ. Chris has substantial experience in working with and for charities and is currently Treasurer and Youth Officer for Crawley Lions Club.

Chris is now working for Sussex Clubs for Young People as Business Development Officer advising clubs working with young people across East and West Sussex plus Brighton and Hove.
